Athletic Therapy

Athletic Therapy specializes in the prevention, assessment and care of musculoskeletal disorders (muscles, bones, joints) especially as they relate to athletics and the pursuit of physical activity. Athletic therapists adhere to the Sports Medicine Model of care. They treat a wide range of patients, from children to seniors using various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription, bracing, and taping.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with every day occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.

Custom Orthotics

Custom orthotics are custom-built corrective shoe inserts that provide personalized support to the structures of our feet. Orthotics act to correct or accommodate biomechanical abnormalities, foot deformities (i.e.: bunions, flatfoot) and a variety of joint and muscle conditions (i.e.: arthritis, plantarfaciitis, heel spurs) to improve your gait and manage pain.

Custom Bracing

A custom knee brace is a medical appliance that is manufactured based on precise measurements of your leg, and tailored for your specific injury. It is a simple and effective way to reduce pain, prevent injury and resume your activities.

Compression Socks

Medical gradient compression hosiery promotes better venous flow which helps to control swelling, varicosities, leg fatigue and other problematic leg conditions.

Rebecca Jackson

Physiotherapist

Rebecca is an experienced business owner and health professional with a demonstrated history of working in the health wellness and fitness industry. She has gained valuable skills and experience while working in hospitals, private clinics and fitness centres before she established her own private practice in 2004. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physical Therapy with honours (Cum Laude) from the University of Western Ontario (1994). Rebecca is committed to continuing education and providing the most up-to-date physiotherapy care. She has completed post-graduate training in manual therapy, movement dysfunction, orthotics, compression hosiery and taping. When working with Rebecca, you can expect to gain a clear understanding of your injury and receive expert guidance on how to best manage it. She strongly believes in developing a therapeutic relationship with all of her clients, so you can be sure she will listen closely to your concerns and goals.

Sametha Scarlett

Athletic Therapist and Massage Therapist

Sametha has been providing Athletic Therapy and Massage Therapy services since 2013 and 2012 respectively, in Quebec and Ontario. Sametha uses a hands-on approach to rehabilitate their injuries and restore function lost. She believes in augmenting her treatment with education and exercise prescription to maintain the body’s optimal function. Sametha has extensive experience working with patients from all ages and various fitness levels, from competitive athletes, to seniors and children. Her extensive knowledge in both Athletic Therapy and Massage Therapy gives her the tools to provide excellent care in acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries. Sametha enjoys giving people increased function in their lives by relieving stress, increasing joint mobility and decreasing pain.

Tiffany Phan-Chu

Athletic Therapist

Tiffany is a Certified Athletic Therapist who graduated from York University with her Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Health Science with Honours. While she has experience working with high level athletes, she has also worked with clients of all ages with a variety of cognitive and physical disabilities. Tiffany loves to integrate manual therapy (hands-on), therapeutic modalities, a strong exercise prescription, and patient education to provide a well-rounded, holistic treatment approach to address the root cause not just the symptoms. Tiffany believes that Athletic Therapy is for everyone; whether you are a Professional Athlete, a weekend warrior, or simply want to improve your quality of life, Tiffany is there to help you reach your goals and live your best life.

Rebecca Jackson is a phenomenal physiotherapist. I broke my radius bone in my left wrist and had multiple fractures. I was in a cast for 7 weeks. When I got the cast off I could literally not move my fingers or thumb and had almost zero mobility and strength in my left wrist. I also had a frozen shoulder and a lot of pain in my upper left back and arm. As an active person my entire life the state of my wrist and arm terrified me so I contacted Rebecca. It Is one of the best decisions I have ever made.

In light of Covid we have not been able to meet in person but are meeting over FaceTime once to twice a week and it is working incredibly well. Rebecca is amazing.
